What can be done about the planes flying over our houses? ?
If the house is located along the extended centerline of a runway, aircraft will continue to operate over the house as long as the runway is used. If the plane is leaving the airport, various air traffic management actions are available to restrict the area where it flies, but such restrictions must be balanced against the cost and operational need of the flight. At KCI all homes that fall within the 60 DNL pattern are located in areas affected by approach noise rather than by takeoff noise. Hence, there are no modifications that will result in a change in where aircraft fly.
