Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is the gateway for 15 million travelers a year,
serving the St. Louis region and the national aviation system. Supporting more than a
dozen airlines and cargo operations, Lambert is the region’s doorway to national and
international commerce and destinations. As an aviation hub, Lambert plays a key role
in the efficiency of the national system of airports while serving as a primary
transportation link for families, vacationers, businesses and communities.
Being the No. 1 generator of economic growth in the St. Louis region, Lambert-St. Louis
International Airport seeks to maximize its role in the community through continual long-term planning. Over the
last 20 years, this process has led to enhancing airfield efficiency, the construction of the East Terminal,
funding the construction of three new schools, enhancing airfield efficiency, conducting a successful Residential
Noise Mitigation Program, expanding air cargo operations, and contributing to the development of the Boeing complex.
Lambert also sold property that is part of the North Park economic redevelopment area and the Hazelwood Logistics Center.
Lambert is now in the first stages of its Airport Experience Program, a multi-million dollar renovation plan to enhance
facilities and passenger services in the Main Terminal.
What’s Happening Now
As Lambert looks to its future, Airport leaders want to be sure Lambert is prepared to meet the area’s long-term needs.
To accomplish this goal, the Airport is initiating two studies: an Airport Master Plan Study, and a Noise Compatibility Study.
