Goals
- Disclose environmental impacts associated with the proposed replacement airport
- The completion of the EIS process will provide answers to critical questions about:
- Site location, layout, and access
- Community and regional socio-economic conditions
- Public land management
- Tribal interests and treaty rights
- Natural and cultural resource impacts
- Cumulative impacts
- Based on preliminary evaluations the following environmental issues were identified:
- Compatible Land Use
- Migration patterns of deer and elk
- Wetlands
- Impacts to parks and wildlife refuges
- Impacts to sensitive species and habitat
