ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • In the current Phase II of study, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been conducting a thorough analysis of the three proposed sites for the Friedman Memorial Replacement Airport: Site 4, Site 10A, and Site 12. As a result of additional aeronautical analysis, Site 4 has been eliminated from further evaluation in the EIS because it is unable to meet minimum requirements for instrument approach procedures stated in the purpose and need for the project. Sites 10a and 12 will continue to be evaluated in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

For Site 10a and Site 12, the FAA is posting the Airport Layout Plans, Area Vicinity Land Use Plans, and Re-Use Plans for the Existing Airport Site Airport Layout Plans:

    • Site 12 Airport Layout Plan - PDF

    • Re-Use Plans for the Existing Airport Site - PDF

The Draft EIS, originally scheduled for release in July of this year, is now anticipated to be released in early 2011 due to additional geotechnical and other analytical requirements. Once the Draft EIS is published, a public hearing will start a 90 day public comment period. FAA releases the following reports/documents:
